Urban Green Care
Outdoor activity 2
Video-interview and introduction to an urban green care initiative in your area
Activities for urban green care happen frequently and almost daily in many neighbourhoods in European cities. However, how much do you know about who organizes these activities and for what purposes? Do these activities really have an effect on our lives? What pushes people and initiatives towards urban green care and what is their experience, their aspirations and their vision for the future? How difficult is it to organize an activity or coordinate an initiative? Is there support from local government or other stakeholders? These questions and the valuable experience of the people involved with urban green care activities and/or initiatives are at the heart of the proposed outdoor activity.
Choose an urban green care activity or initiative that you know, have heard of, or that is close to your area and that you think is likely to resonate with you. If you don’t know of one, do a quick research either in search engines or social media posts and pages e.g. Facebook, Instagram and you will surely find an initiative or urban green care activity somewhere near you! The ultimate purpose of this task is to conduct and record a short interview using the video recording function of your mobile phone, talking to people involved or participating in the activity you have chosen. Follow the hints given in the useful tips for the interview on the next page and you can draw inspiration from the list of suggested questions below! Post your video to your social media profile at the end if you want to and share your YOUTH ECO story and experience of how and why you chose to do this interview.
