Create your own community garden: Design and Implementation
This activity can teach you how urban green care actions can improve mental health, simply by using your internet skills and critical thinking! Learning to identify urban green care activities in your area or city and promote their health benefits for citizens, can help you in the future to volunteer or work in green CSOs or networks that find, promote and incubate such initiatives.

Introduction
After you have identified an area in your locality that could become a community garden take some time in groups to think of the steps and principles that are to be followed while gardening.

Notebook, paper, and colouring pencils
Instructions
This can be done as an individual or group activity.
- Research Permaculture basics
- Think of the most important things that you need available to start gardening (water, soil, not too much wind etc)
- Research local flora and fauna which could be added to the garden to attract bees
- Research no-tilling methos to protect biodiversity
- Research how start a compost
- After the research (in groups / indivitually) draw and colour the garden which you envision in the disused land that you have identified in your locality
