Tree is our hero
This activity will help you understand, why trees are important for nature preservation, animals and humans. It will strengthen respect toward nature and trees specifically. To acknowledge the importance of trees and their role in nature and fight against climate change is crucial for achieving long-term changes for the environment. Having this knowledge helps to act more respectful in the future and actively participate in actions for better climate. With this activity, you will strengthen your critical thinking and a sense for taking aesthetic photography with meaningful message.
In the Resources section, you will find a link to the Kahoot! On-line quiz. The quiz is titled Why Trees are Climate Superheroes!. You can set up your own Kahoot! Account or select Continue as guest and select Classic mode. You can take the quiz through your computer or with a help of your smartphone. Quiz generates a QR code, which you scan with your phone and press your answers on the phone.
After you finish the quiz, think about the trees and try to appreciate their role in the nature.
Your second task is to take your smartphone and go outside. Take a walk in the local area and take a photo of every tree you see on your way. Have fun with taking photos and try different angles and perspectives. Make a tree an unambiguous hero of your photo.
Share your photos on your social media with a title: Heroes of our time (or similar). Add a short description to your photos, why are trees the heroes and what are they doing to keep our air clean (taking in carbon dioxide (CO2), release oxygen by way of photosynthesis, and store carbon in their trunks).
